. . .

It took less than a minute for the Gods to roll up deep, taking over the entire block. My fucking blood boiled as I looked over at my wife, the wail of sirens growing louder in the distance. Suga stared me dead in the eyes, and I could feel the fire burning behind them. She gripped my arms tight as we both looked toward Capone, who was helping his twin brother up from the ground.

"That matted-wig bitch gotta fucking die… Joy gonna wanna put a hot one in her ass," Capone winced as Cappadonna applied pressure to his shoulder, right where the bullet had caught him.

They had been aiming for Aimee, but Cappadonna pushed her down, taking the fall—and the bullet—in the process. I helped my baby up, and she walked past me gripping her purse like it was a damn brown bag hiding a forty.

Even with the sirens closing in, the Gods had the block locked down. The cops weren't coming through until we were already gone. Capri walked into the street, standing in the middle of the Gods. They all straightened up, planting their feet firmly on the ground when she addressed them.

Capri's last name wasn't just Inferno; she was Lady Inferno to the Gods. There was a specific respect commanded by anyone carrying the Inferno name. If my mother were still the same woman she used to be, that same respect would have been extended to her. Hell, it was still extended whenever my father came around.

She scanned the faces before her. "Find that bitch… I want her alive… I want her. By the time I touch back down in America, I better have her waiting for me." She swung her purse onto her shoulder and nodded for Aimee and Skyler to follow her.

"You fucking heard her… find that bitch… alive." I fell in behind my baby, holding the door open for her. "Tell Capone I'm following behind him… I'll call the doctor on the way."

I kissed her on the lips. "I'm behind you."

She was so damn mad that all that lovey-dovey shit she usually did was out the window. I closed the door and walked over toward Yasin. He handed me his helmet and his bike.

"Bring my whip to my crib."

"Got you," he saluted. I got on the bike and nodded to the others to box my wife in as we made our exit off the block.

"Suga, hit those plates for me, 'cause you gonna have to gun it. The Gods gonna apply some pressure so you and Capone can make it off the block."

Kincaid rode down the sidewalk on his dirt bike. "Yo, clear the fucking path for Capo and Lady Inferno… go out this way, Meer… them dumb asses are all on the other end of the block."

I nodded as we all revved our engines. Capri hit her digital plates and they switched; Capone did the same in Capp's truck. His engine roared, the vibration palpable in your chest as he headed off the block. Each God took a side of his truck, while Capri followed behind him, with me on her left.

Soon as we made it off the block, I knew I couldn't ride with her the entire time. I needed to go back and make sure Sim and the rest of the Gods were straight. I motioned for her to roll her window down.

"See you back at Capp's crib… you already know what to do." I winked.

She smirked, saluting as she rolled her window up. I watched as she sped down the block behind her brother.

I spun Yasin's bike around and went back onto the block. Six police cars were barricaded ahead, trying to ride down the street to keep us from leaving on the opposite side. Quasim's favorite pastime was dusting fucking cops, so I knew he was smirking under his dark-ass helmet as he spun his bike and went up on the sidewalk, pissing the cops off.

"Fuck youuuuuu meannnn…. fuck twelve!" Goon spun his bike in my direction while the rest of the Gods followed suit. I did the same, watching them increase their speed down the block.

Me and Goon rode past each other slowly, reaching out to hit the IG shake before popping a wheelie while the cops hit their brakes. I took a right on Gates Avenue while he hit a left. One cop car went my way; the other went his.

I zipped in and out of traffic, making sure I didn't get caught up. They always played dirty when it came to niggas on a bike. I hit a right on Throop Avenue, looked back, and saw them peeling around that corner.

Quasim happened to be coming down the block without a cop on his tail. He hit that hand motion, and the rest of the Gods followed behind, turning onto the block on dirt bikes, motorcycles, and four-wheelers.

More came around the corner. I peeped those dark purple bikes and saw a ghost on the side of them as they crowded the block, making it impossible for the cop car to get to me. It was a one-way street, and with the way the bikes and shit packed it out, they needed to just give it the fuck up.

"Fuck youuuuuu mean!" I heard Goon's big-ass mouth as I saluted, hype as shit, too. Bia saluted me as she and the rest of the Brooklyn Reapers followed behind her, while Quasim was ahead with a few of the Gods. They both locked the block down.

Brooklyn Reapers was another motorcycle gang in Brooklyn. Each borough had a gang, but each operated on their own. Inferno Gods were at the top, and everyone followed and respected that.

Bia Steele was the head of the Brooklyn Reapers, and them niggas made themselves known when it was time to handle business. After her pops was murdered, she stepped up as head of the Reapers, with her sisters following behind her. The Steele sisters weren't shit to fuck around with. They were the definition of quiet, but deadly.

"Yo, Blaze… go behind my sister!" Sim yelled, careful not to use my name, as the cops sat in their cars probably about to shit themselves.

I saluted as I booked it onto the sidewalk to get off the block, then headed in the direction I knew my baby would be taking. Despite doing all that I had did, I checked my phone while pushing it down each block. They were already halfway across the Brooklyn Bridge. I increased my speed, taking all the shortcuts I knew before I made it onto the bridge. Capone and Capri were pushing it, so I knew I wasn't going to catch up to them. I continued on until I made it to the tunnel. One side was closed, and I looked at the electronic sign—knew it was Corleon.

It didn't take me long before I was pulling into Cappadonna's gates. I saw his truck and Capri's whip parked side by side. I parked Yasin's bike and headed inside, where I heard Alaia's mouth.

"I don't even know the bitch, for real… all I heard is shit about her, but you have to let me end her ass… she shot my fucking husband!" Alaia raised her voice, which caught me by surprise.

Alaia was always calm and reserved. Seeing her pace back and forth while her husband was at the counter applying pressure to his shoulder was a different turn of events. It was always Capp going off while his wife was the calm to his chaos. The doctor hadn't arrived yet, and from the way Capp was sitting, you wouldn't have known his ass was even shot.

Capri was leaned against the wall. I didn't think she was fully here until she spoke. "Alaia, I have to handle her this time… no more fucking running and slipping through our hands… I'm pulling that trigger." Her voice was filled with ice as she stared into thin air. "I want her fucking head… I let bitches play with me, always being nice, never putting them through it, but that shit ends now… Tasha is gonna get handled."

Alaia stopped pacing. "Fair. Then me and Erin will play the back… we got your follow-up… always. I'm not fucking sitting around… I'm supposed to be induced tomorrow. My husband is fucking shot… my daughter won't stop beating up the kids in swim class… I'm about to pull my fucking hijab off I'm so damn stressed."

"Joy, calm the fuck down," Capp ordered. She turned and looked at him like she was waiting for him to fix what he said. "You heard what the hell I said… the doctor gonna come through and get me right, and then we gonna have those babies before I get on my flight to Monaco."

"You cannot still be going, Cappy? The twins are coming, and you need to be here with Ala—'"

"Capri, I know what I signed up for when I married into this family. I'm able to hold it down, and have both Mommy and Pops here, along with Erin. Long as he's here to see his sons born, we will bond when he makes it back home." She hemmed up Capp's shirt. "And he better make it back home."

Capp kissed her on the nose. "You know Daddy always makes it back home… Roy and…"

"Joy forever," she kissed his nose this time and applied pressure to his shoulder.

I looked at my wife as she chewed on the side of her lip. As she was about to speak, Kincaid and Naheim both walked in together.

"Yo, Capri… got a way for you to pull that bitch in." He handed her his phone, and she looked at him before taking it.

She scrolled through the phone before returning her gaze to him. I'm not gonna front—the reason I was hesitant to even go there with Suga wasn't because of Naheim. She was married to him, and he was her first love, so I knew she would always have some feelings toward him. But as she looked up into his eyes, there was nothing there.

She didn't look at the nigga like she looked at me. When Suga's eyes landed on mine, I could tell she could see our entire life in just one blink. "Why you never replied?"

"NJ don't know her, and I want to keep that shit that way… what fucking good has she been to any of her other kids? He's my son… not hers," Naheim replied.

"She gonna smell a setup the minute you hit her up after she just pulled this shit," Capri replied and looked down at her phone. From the way she looked, I knew it was Morgan's freaky ass texting her. "What he said?"

"Told me that Menace is sending people to pick him up and hide him until his flight can take off tonight."

"Why the fuck we don't have Menace bring him to us?" Naheim asked.

"Sticking to the fucking plan," Capone said. "I fucked up not tying the loose ends tightly, so this time we gotta do this shit the right way. Morgan is all over the fucking news, for a dead NYPD officer, US Marshal, and a special agent… we bringing this bitch home the correct way. Monaco has always been the end game to tie all of this up."

He nodded for us to follow him into the living room and turned the TV on. Aside from the local news showing the Brooklyn Reapers and Inferno Gods locking down a block, he switched to CNN. We watched them raiding Morgan's condo.

Capri stood with her arms folded. I came behind her and rubbed her stomach. "Love you, Sug."

"Love you more, Meer," she whispered, never taking her eyes from the TV that showed them going in and out of Morgan's apartment building.

"We got a tip from a laundromat that Mayoral Candidate Vincent Morgan had gotten his clothes dry cleaned in. One of the suits, which wasn't returned to him, was turned into us by an employee that works there… she said the blood was very noticeable and she felt uneasy returning it to him. The DNA came back that the blood belongs to that NYPD officer who was just found dead, who happens to be a relative to Vincent Morgan."

Alaia clapped her hands and took a bow. "Baby got me what I needed. I added it onto his suit, and had the manager of the laundromat call it in, right when they found the body. Morgan was so busy eye-fucking me that he didn't notice he was missing one suit."

Erin laughed. "My bitch," she said as she dapped Alaia up. They hit some hip bump and cackled among each other.

"Nigga lucky I didn't fucking put one in him right then and there… looking at my fucking wife like that," Capp muttered while he continued to hold his wound. "Where the fuck is the doctor… I'm fucking him up the minute he step through the door."

"How the fuck he gonna remove the bullet, Capp?" Kincaid asked.

"Then let me fuck you up each time pain shoot up my arm," he suggested, and Kincaid laughed like the lunatic his ass was.

"Nah, I'm good… even down an arm… I know that hit holds power," Kincaid laughed while holding his hands up.

"Real talk… we end this shit and come the fuck home. Baby Doll been holding this together, and she deserves to enjoy her pregnancy and marriage… we handle this shit, then home… if this shit goes left…"

Capella walked into the living room. "Then we bringing that bitch back right."

His father looked at him and reached his arm out. Capella fell into his father's arms like he needed that hug. Cappadonna kissed his head and held him as best as he could with his one arm.
